November 26, 2008.  The official player roster for the YCB now stands at 83 for the fall term.  Additional clarinet players are needed to meet our target membership goals.

November 17, 2008.   YCB is mentioned prominently in several places in the most recent issue of the Journal of the Association of Concert Bands.  These itmes include a full article about the Band's October 2007 concert, which re-created two 30 minute broadcasts of the "Paul Lavalle and the Cities Service Band of America" radio program of the late 1940's and early 1950's, and a shorter article about the Band's 2008 scholarship recipient.

November 15, 2008.  For the fifth consecutive year, the YCB has been selected to perform, along with 11 other adult bands in Michigan, at the prestigious Red Cedar Festival of Community Bands.  This year, the YCB has been selected to be the closing event of the day.  The festival, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Okemos High School on February 28, 2009.

October 30, 2008.  All three of the living former conductors of the YCB--Dr. Lynn Cooper, Paul Stanifer, and Dr. Charles Lee--are planning to be present and to conduct onYCB's 30th Anniversary Concert on February 26, 2009.

The 2008-2009 edition of the Band's Guidelines/Handbook, which includes much reference material, is posted, for download or on-line use, in the About Us section, along with the Band's various Governance and planning documents.  Board meeting minutes for the year have been added in the About Us section as well.  The recently-modified version of the YCB Bylaws may be found there, too. 

Concert information into the summer of 2009 is on the "Concerts" page, and it is updated frequently.
